2010 Stimulus Check Updates
Posted in Stimulus Package on 23. Feb, 2010
February 2010 is almost over and there has still been no word from President Obama as to the potential continuation of the Stimulus Check program. It is likely that Veterans and anyone collecting Social Security could get a small Stimulus Check this year somewhere in the $250 range.
The Stimulus Check and Stimulus Package are oftentimes confused and it is important to understand the difference. The Stimulus Package is the program that Obama put-together early-on in his Presidency. The goal of this package was to help the economy by assisting companies, creating jobs, and of course – providing money to tax-payers like yourself.
The Stimulus Check is money paid directly to you from the government in an effort to stimulate the economy. Bush did this towards the end of his Presidency and sent a physical check out to millions of Americans. President Obama provided a Stimulus Check in 2010 in the form of a tax rebate. Many Americans expected a physical check in 2009 only to find-out this would simply decrease their taxes.
Now that we are two months into 2010 it is clear that the economy has a way to go and the money from the stimulus package has not directly impacted any of us. Stay-tuned to this site to get the latest information about the stimulus package and when you might be getting a nice free check from the government!
